AMBULANCE workers in the West Midlands have won the right to full sick pay while self-isolating after a GMB campaign. Official NHS guidance states that staff should be paid in full, including average overtime, while off work to avoid transmitting coronavirus. But until now, workers at West Midlands Ambulance Service had to scrape by on limited sick pay during periods of self-isolation. They will now receive an average of their overtime earnings as well. Payments will be backdated to the start of the pandemic in February 2020 after a fightback by members of the general union. Army man commits suicide at Srinagar military HQ | India News

SRINAGAR: A day after a lieutenant colonel shot himself dead with his service weapon at the Khonmoh depot on the outskirts of Srinagar, an Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by hanging at the military headquarters in the city on Thursday. Official sources said Anoop Kumar of 105 BN (TA) Raj Riffle committed suicide near the JCO Point in Badamibagh Cantonment. A probe has been launched to ascertain the reason behind the jawan taking his own life. On Wednesday, Col Sudeep Bhagat had shot himself and was declared dead in the army hospital. The reason behind his suicide is also being ascertained.
