Miami University will honor NBA executive and basketball icon Wayne Embry (Miami ’58) and his late wife, Theresa “Terri” Embry (Miami ’60), with the Freedom Summer of ’64 Award at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, outside the main entrance of Millett Hall, Miami’s basketball arena.

Today: A take out spaghetti dinner will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at the White Star Club, 401 Shuster Drive. Menu: spaghetti, salad and rolls, $10; extra homemade meatballs, $3. Call ahead or order at time of pickup. Members welcome for dine-in with limited seating. Face masks required upon entering the building.

Thursday: Zion United Methodist Church, Buffalo Township, will host a community blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. in the church Family Life Center, 438 Bear Creek Road. Appointments recommended. Blood donations are tested for covid-19 antibodies. Bring and ID mask. Participating donors will be entered into a random drawing to win one of four pairs of lower bowl tickets to the May 8 Pittsburgh Penguin hockey game.
