The shooting was reported at about 8:20 p.m. in the 2600 block of Ocean View Boulevard, near 28th Street, according to the San Diego Police Department. A Hispanic male suspect fired several rounds from a dark colored vehicle at the victim, police said. The 24-year-old man was taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries. His name was not released. No motive for the shooting was provided. Ocean View Boulevard from 28th Street to Sampson Street was closed as police investigated the shooting.

Attempt to serve warrant leads to SWAT standoff in Logan Heights

SAN DIEGO  An attempt to serve a warrant on a wanted suspect led to a SWAT standoff that forced police to shut down a stretch of a Logan Heights street Friday morning. The suspect is thought to be holed up in a residence on Ocean View Boulevard west of 28th Street, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said. “We believe there are two people inside, and both are considered to be armed and dangerous,” Martinez said. The standoff started about 9 a.m. Police have shut down Ocean View from South Evans Street to South 28th Street, he said. They’ve also shut down Sampson Street at Harrison Avenue.
