Lincoln County Officers Investigating after Body Found in Woods Lincoln County Officers Investigating after Body Found in Woods July 14, 2021 Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a secluded wooded area off Smith Farm Road in Lincolnton. At about 7:40 last night (July 13), Deputies were dispatched to Smith Farm Road in reference to a suspicious vehicle found off the road in a wooded area. A check of the vehicle determined that it belonged to a man who had been reported missing on July 7 of this year. A K-9 Officer was brought to the scene and located the body of an unidentified person in the woods. The investigation is ongoing.
