Scott Miller named Camdenton R-III teacher of the week Submitted Content Camdenton R-III This week Camdenton R-III School District and The Smith Law Firm would like to honor Scott Miller, the Marine and Power Sports instructor at Lake Career & Technical Center. Mr. Miller has worked diligently this year to develop business and industry partnerships for his students. He also led the LCTC’s role in the State SkillsUSA virtual competition platform. Additionally, Mr. Miller is always willing to lend a hand to his fellow teachers when they are in need.   And that is why, this week Camdenton R-III School District and The Smith Law Firm would like to honor Scott Miller, Marine and Power Sports instructor as the Camdenton R-III School District/Smith Law Firm Teacher of the Week.

Kanesha Carr named Camdenton R-III teacher of the week Submitted Content Camdenton R-III This week Camdenton R-III School District and The Smith Law Firm would like to honor Osage Beach Elementary teacher Kanesha Carr. Mrs. Carr has shined brightly throughout this year. She has stepped up and been willing to support students however needed. The first semester she taught third grade distance learning and second semester she is now teaching second grade seated learning. She continues to remain positive and form strong relationships with her students. Even though both were new ventures, she continued to work hard and focus on students’ needs. Both semesters she has continued to support her students with reading groups and this past semester focused on growing their math skills also. She continues to work with each student daily to help them be successful. The district is very proud of her efforts. Greenville law enforcement panel strives to improve police relations

A community conversation with local law enforcement in effort to improve community and police relations will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Greenville County Square. Watch here or on The Greenville News Facebook page for a livestream broadcast of the event.  In an effort to be proactive, we have decided to meet and engage the community and local law enforcement in a town hall format conversation to create more interaction between the community, especially the black and brown community in the Upstate, a news release from Rev. U.A. Thompson reads. The event comes days after former police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all counts in the murder of George Floyd in Minnesota.
