IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - It should come at no surprise that economic uncertainty suppresses giving, however 2020 has shown that people are motivated to give during times of a crisis. Danny Perrone of Idaho Falls has experienced this first hand after his family and friends raised over $6K through a GoFundMe campaign to purchase him a new specialized wheelchair. It s really exciting to see that because times have been tough for everyone and so it s really really incredible to see all the people that have wanted to donate to me and help me get my body back on track and getting back to healthy. MOORHEAD Some families that have children or loved ones with medical issues have locked themselves in their homes for months. No birthday parties, Christmas gatherings or kindergarten graduations. The release of the COVID-19 vaccine means a possible end in sight to their seclusion.
Heartfelt tributes have been paid to 49-year-old Andrew Stevens who died at home in Barrow on Saturday. Mr Stevens was born with the complex birth defect, Spina Bifida and lost both his legs to lymphoedema in 2005. Despite his extensive disabilities, however, he never allowed this to hinder his lifestyle. Mr Stevens was a devoted member of the Barrow District and Disability Association (BDDA) for over 40 years and became involved in the charity at ten-years-old where he met the honorary chief executive, Margaret Burrow. Mrs Burrow described him as always grateful for life despite his many medical challenges. She said: Andy was loved by all who had the good fortune to know him, myself included.
The John Brabourne 2020 second round of awardees
Two UK directors with a disability are among the second round of the Film and TV Charity’s John Brabourne recipients for 2020.
The talent development grant, totalling £60,000 ($80,000), is presented to a 12-strong cohort of UK writers, directors, and producers.

The award, which runs twice a year, provides up to £5,000 to cover expenses ranging from development to training, production and living costs, and is aimed at helping upcoming talent overcome barriers, realise career-changing projects and take vital next steps in the industry.
