Coast to Coast Deli in Adrian extends hours, menu

The Daily Telegram ADRIAN Coast to Coast Deli is back open after a pandemic hiatus with a slew of new menu items. Now offering breakfast sandwiches and a create-your-own omelet option, Coast to Coast Deli reopened on Jan. 4 under new ownership after being closed since last March. Diane and Ray Broat decided to retire during the pandemic and sold their 25-year-old business to Potter Family Foods, which also owns Chomp Burger. The Potters are happy to have a great business, said manager Brittani McComb. McComb knows her way around Coast to Coast, having previously worked at the restaurant. I love Coast to Coast and the people who ran it, she said. It s definitely the family love atmosphere.

Adrian Salvation Army adds storage space to thrift store The Daily Telegram ADRIAN A 2,500-square-foot addition to the Salvation Army s thrift store in Adrian will allow for all donations to be stored safely inside. Construction began late last summer on a storage and receiving facility. It is attached to the back of the thrift store. The space allows for storing and sorting donations. There s also enough room for the Salvation Army to keep its emergency disaster vehicle inside, safe from the elements. Salvation Army staff, the Adrian Area Chamber of Commerce and community members were on hand Wednesday morning for a brief dedication ceremony.

Lenawee County receives more than half a foot of snow

The Daily Telegram A snowstorm that prompted multiple Lenawee County communities to issue snow emergencies delivered several inches of snow as residents spent Tuesday digging out. Lenawee County road crews were out at 5 a.m. on Monday clearing roads after a brief snow. It would serve as a warmup for later that night as the brunt of a low pressure system out of the south began around 6 p.m. Snow continued throughout the evening and into Tuesday morning. Strong winds caused white out conditions and drifting. Forecasts had predicted between 6 and 9 inches of snow. The Lenawee County Airport reported 6 inches. Morenci reported 5.9 inches, Britton and Tipton both received more than 7 inches. Tecumseh was estimated at about 8 inches.

Lowry store manager Addy Singh had no problem with it. Hey, do whatever you want. That s your side, he told North Coast. So the marijuana retailer did. Today, the west wall of Lowry s sports a new coat of teal paint. It s one way North Coast, and other dispensaries in the city, get involved and give back to the community.

Former Adrian economic development coordinator named MSU fellow

The Daily Telegram Adrian s Chris Miller has been tasked with using his economic development expertise to help Michigan cities invest in their communities. Miller was named an innovation fellow for this year by the Michigan State University Economic Development Administration Center for Regional Economic Innovation, which is federally funded and pushes for innovative economic ideas. In this role, Miller will work with communities who have engaged in community capital projects and provide them with resources to do more local investing. Miller is the special projects coordinator for PlaneWave Instruments in Adrian. Most recently, he was Adrian s Downtown Development Authority and economic development coordinator.
