Funeral Set for Zanesville Firefighter

WHIZ News Funeral Set for Zanesville Firefighter Funeral arrangements are announced for a Zanesville Firefighter who died in an off duty accident. Calling hours for 27-year-old Austin Eveland, of Nashport, will take place Friday at the Snouffer Funeral Home from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm. A funeral service will take place Saturday at the Snouffer Chapel at 1pm. He’ll be honored by Zanesville Fire Department and by his former department of Falls Township. The State Highway Patrol reported that Eveland died Wednesday morning after his ATV went off the roadway, struck a ditch and a traffic sign and then overturned.

Home > Local News > FEMA Provides Financial Support for COVID-19 Related Funerals: Local Funeral Home Assists Families FEMA Provides Financial Support for COVID-19 Related Funerals: Local Funeral Home Assists Families ZANESVILLE, Ohio- FEMA is providing financial help for COVID-19 related funeral expenses to families who have lost loved ones due to the Coronavirus.  To be eligible for funeral assistance, the death must have occurred after January 20, 2020, and the death certificate must indicate the death was attributed to COVID-19. Applicants can be reimbursed up to $9,000. “That is directly related to funeral cremation services expenses, and that’s a huge help for families in our area…This program just came out and we’ve already assisted a few families already with this program,” Snouffer Funeral Home Funeral Director and Owner Josh Snouffer said.

WHIZ News Wreaths Across America Ceremony Held ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The national Wreaths Across America ceremony was held yesterday to honor veterans who have passed on.  In Zanesville the ceremony was held at Greenwood Ceremony. Snouffer Funeral Home and The Veterans Appreciation Foundation conducted the event to honor recently deceased veterans.  “This year with the Wreaths Across America we were made aware of forty veterans in our area who were unable to have their graveside honors because of COVID. When we learned that it really touched our hearts and we wanted to somehow come up with a way to honor them before the end of the year. Wreaths Across America is the perfect time to do that. The Veterans Appreciation Foundation, when they found out there were these veterans that had not been honored, they got on board.”, VAF board member Becky joseph told WHIZ.

WHIZ News Wreaths Across America at Greenwood Cemetery ZANESVILLE, OH – For many years during the month of December, Snouffer Funeral Home has hosted a “Wreaths Across America” ceremony at the Greenwood Cemetery. This years Wreaths Across America ceremony is special in that it is the largest year of wreath donations yet. Over 180 wreaths will be laid in honor of veterans at Greenwood.
