Man Accosting Strangers Is Shot Dead by Armed Citizen in Washington State
A shooting that took place in Washington state last week involved a person pulling a gun and firing on a man harassing strangers, authorities said.
Police officers in Everett responded on May 11 to a report of an assault with a weapon and found an adult male had been shot. The man, who has not been named, in his early 30s, was rushed to a hospital but was soon pronounced dead.
Initial reports indicate the man was walking his dog when he started shouting and acting aggressively towards people walking on sidewalks around Silver Lake, including a grandmother and her young granddaughter.
The incident happened around 3:30PM Tuesday afternoon.Major Crimes detectives investigate shooting incident in Everett.
At about 3:30 p.m. yesterday, officers responded to the 11300 block of 19th Ave SE on the report of an assault with a weapon.
Arriving officers discovered an adult male had been shot. The male, in his early 30’s, was taken to a local hospital where he later died from the injuries.
Initial reports indicate the male was walking his dog when he started yelling and became aggressive towards people walking on the sidewalk around Silver Lake. One individual was a grandmother and her young granddaughter. Several men were nearby and attempted to intervene but were pepper sprayed and struck with a metal baton by the male. One of the interveners was armed with a pistol and shot the male twice.

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) A man walking his dog near Silver Lake in Everett was fatally shot by a bystander after acting aggressively toward other people on the sidewalk, according to police.
The man who was shot had been walking his dog on the sidewalk around Silver Lake around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when, with no apparent provocation, he started “yelling and became aggressive towards people walking on the sidewalk around Silver Lake,” including a grandmother and her young granddaughter, police said in a statement released Wednesday.
Several men attempted to intervene, but the dog-walker responded by pepper-spraying and striking them with a metal baton, the Seattle Times reported. One of the men who tried to intervene was armed with a pistol, and shot the dog-walker twice, police spokesman Aaron Snell said.
