KNOXVILLE â The victim of an alleged armed robbery in Sevierville Friday pursued the man accused of robbing him at gunpoint down I-40, staying behind him after Knox County Sheriffâs deputies located them on the interstate.
Incident reports indicate KCSO apprehended the accused robber, 18-year-old Trevon Marquis Allen, of Knoxville, after he fled a traffic stop and then struck a utility pole at the Asheville Highway exit.
Charles Sutton said he met Allen at the Fastop near Exit 407 to purchase a car, but Allen pulled out a shotgun and took the money heâd brought for the transaction.
Sutton showed investigators text messages between the two of them setting up the meeting. The two met at the gas station at about 2 a.m. Friday, according to reports.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) A registered sex offender was taken into custody after a standoff with negotiation officers Thursday along Strawberry Plains Pike, according to Knoxville police.
Police said that on Thursday afternoon, officers were advised of the possible location of a man who is a registered sex offender with an active warrant for domestic aggravated assault in the area of Strawberry Plains Pike. Both KPD and Knox County Sheriff’s Office units responded to the area.
The man was located in his vehicle outside of a residence in the 7900 block of Strawberry Plains Pike and made threats of suicide when officers attempted to make contact. KPD Negotiators were called to the scene in an effort to safely take him into custody.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. UPDATE (7:57 a.m.) A driver was killed in a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer reported on I-40 near Strawberry Plains Pike Wednesday night, police said.
Around 7:30 p.m., the Knoxville Police Department responded to a crash with injuries in both the Eastbound and Westbound lanes of I-40 near Strawberry Plains Pike.
Based on a preliminary investigation, it is believed that vehicle one was traveling Westbound when it crossed the center median and struck vehicle two, which was traveling in the Eastbound lanes.
KPD said that vehicle one was then struck by a tractor-trailer that was also traveling Eastbound. Both vehicle one and the tractor-trailer subsequently caught on fire following that collision, police said.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. The Knox County Commission on Monday passed Mayor Glenn Jacobs $893.6 million 2021/22 budget.
The numbers tell the tale: Knox County s budget for the new fiscal year looks nothing like last year s lean spending plan.
Earlier in May, Jacobs presented a 2021/22 proposed budget of that was $42.3 million above the current adopted budget.
