Stratford City Council says they won’t make a decision on a proposed glass manufacturing facility over the holidays.
In an update, they say they are continuing with their review and consideration of the proposed cost sharing agreement with Xinyi Canada Glass Limited.
As part of the review and consideration process, they say additional information is being requested from Xinyi in response to questions asked by council and the public.
They say this will allow council to fully review, consider, evaluate and make an informed decision on the proposed agreement.

The Stratford Town Council amended a resolution on racism before voting last month. (Anna Bybee-Schier/Patch)
STRATFORD, CT Several Stratford residents recently spoke against the many changes made to a resolution on racism before it was approved last month by the Town Council. Stratford is not the squeaky clean place that we think it is, there is a lot of implicit bias and there is a lot of discrimination, resident Barbara Heimlich said at the public forum preceding the council s meeting last week.
The changes to the resolution removed language that: referred to racism as a public health crisis, sought periodic reports to town administrators and councilmen on racial equity goals, and requested improved data on and analysis of inequities within town initiatives.

The rally is being organized by citizen’s group Wise Communities for noon Monday in Market Square, behind Stratford City Hall.
The group who oppose the proposed Xinyi Canada glass manufacturing facility say the themes of Monday’s rally will centre around First Nations, agriculture and youth.
The rally is taking place ahead of Stratford City Council’s last regular meeting of 2020.
