A Marion man was arrested in Jackson County over the weekend for an outstanding warrant and possessing a stolen handgun.
Carbondale Police say 26-year-old Keenan Parson was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by police on Saturday night for an equipment violation in the 500 block of West Main Street.
Parson had a warrant out of Union County. A handgun was found under his seat. The gun was reported stolen from Cape Girardeau. Officers charged Parson with Possession of Stolen Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 23-year-old Jaylyn Williams of Du Quoin. During the investigation, the officer also located a small amount of raw illegal cannabis in the vehicle. Williams was issued a civil law citation for Possession of Cannabis and released.

MARSHALL, Texas (KLTV) - A narcotics search warrant yielded two arrests and the discovery of narcotics, U.S. currency, and stolen firearms.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office executed the warrant at the 2000 block of Katherine St. in Marshall.
Mark Lewis, of Marshall, and Maygn Goode, of Harleton, are being charged with possession according to Captain Tyler Owen of Harrison County Sheriff’s Office. Bond has yet to be set, and charges for the stolen guns are not yet finalized.
