Healthcare assistant Anthony Spence took advantage of mental health patient A WILTSHIRE healthcare assistant who had a sexual relationship with a patient detained under the Mental Health Act has been jailed for five years. Anthony Spence, 39, of Kingsfield Leaze, Bradford on Avon, was sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court yesterday (28/06). He had previously pleaded guilty to two charges of sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder involving care workers. He was jailed for five years and will be on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely. Spence was working at Green Lane Hospital in Devizes when he met his victim. Within two months of her arriving at the hospital in December 2017 they had started a sexual relationship which continued after she had been discharged.
