Worcester’s first mass coronavirus vaccination centre is now open, giving its first jabs to people today. St Peter’s Baptist Church in Eden Close got up and running on Monday February 1, after being earmarked as a potential site for vaccinations last November. Frontline health and social care workers as well as the most vulnerable patient groups are being vaccinated this week. David McDowell, operations manager for the site at St Peter’s Baptist Church, said: “This vaccination centre will further increase our local capacity to deliver Covid-19 vaccines, building upon the brilliant work of our GP-led teams, and those at the newly-opened Artrix in Bromsgrove. These have been instrumental in helping us to introduce the vaccine in Herefordshire and Worcestershire so far, and we look forward to doing our part in driving this programme forward.

SIR – Do we now find ourselves having left the European Union and rejoined the Common Market, which is what I voted for originally?
C F Goodall
SIR – With some reluctance, I voted to leave the EU. The manner in which it has conducted negotiations since the UK voted for Brexit has done much to reassure me that I did the right thing.

SIR – The person to be recognised for having brought about such a good Brexit deal is Lord Frost. As the EU has said, he has been a tough leader of the British negotiating team – but fair, too.
