PITTMAN CENTER The board of mayor and aldermen moved ahead in the process of refilling town hall Thursday, making Tammy Watts Rochester the interim city administrator.
Rochester had been serving as chief financial officer of the town. Mayor Jerry Huskey named her temporary administrator after the resignation of Candice Gilreath.
The board’s vote means Rochester will keep serving in that capacity as they review candidates and make a formal hire to replace Gilreath, who served as administrator for less than three months.
Rochester tabbed Officer Mike Blackstock as interim chief last week.
“He’s really picked the ball up and ran with it,” she told the board Thursday.
