She could run unopposed, just as Cheney did several years ago. But there are signs that could change.

Gov McMaster says no more mask mandates

McMaster has issued an executive order that overturns mask rules in public schools and those issued by many city and county governments statewide.  It also will prohibit vaccine passports.   The executive order ends mask mandates that were approved using the governor s state of emergency declaration, making most invalid. The city of Columbia now say they may challenge the governor s order in court. Gov. McMaster issued the order late Tuesday afternoon. It takes effect immediately. Columbia councilwoman, Tameika Isaac-Devine,  says the order takes away a city s ability to have a mask ordinance. This order does not follow CDC guidelines, says Isaac-Devine.

(WIS) - The City of Columbia has voted to extend the emergency ordinance requiring face coverings. This ordinance will expire on June 5. Businesses, where masks are required, must place a “Notice” in a visible place notifying the public of the requirement to wear a face covering. Masks should be worn in restaurants, retail establishments, nail and hair salons, barbershops, medical offices, city buildings, and personal hygiene establishments. Mayor Steve Benjamin posted a statement regarding the extension saying:
