And so, in what felt like the blink of an eye, my baby boy Christian turns 11. I ve unconditionally loved that itty bitty baby from chasing duckies at the Rez, to running crazy wild at the playground on Amerige Park all the way to him challenging me one-on-one in hoops just last week. It s been a life altering journey thus far.
My grandson Christian has opened my doors of perception (sans the hallucinogens) in so many ways, continuing to inspire and amaze me during this chapter of my life. It s been one hell of a ride every second of the way! Each and every day something new as his mind, heart and soul expands exponentially all the while becoming a loving, caring young man. Here s to the next 11, my sweet little Christian.
Local schools OK limited spectators for fall season
Welcome back, high school sports fans. It’s been a while.
For the first time in 12 months, spectators are permitted to attend high school sporting events on a limited basis.
Section XI, Suffolk County’s interscholastic governing body, issued guidelines March 2 allowing limited spectators for the fall sports season that began with practices March 1 and runs through April 25. No more than two spectators per athlete are allowed, and for the indoor fall sports of badminton, girls swimming and boys and girls volleyball, visiting spectators are not allowed. Section XI noted that individual schools may be more restrictive in their own policies, and information about the spring season will be forthcoming as that season approaches.
