Hair particularly the diversity of textures and patterns has been a point of confidence, pride, and trend-setting innovation for generations of folks within Black communities. From leading the development of the earliest hair care patents, to inventing research-based products and tools that continue to dominate the market today, there’s long been remarkable consideration for the versatility and diversity of Black hair.
Curly or not, no two strands of hair are ever alike. Hair is arguably one of the most versatile characteristics and external statement pieces of personalities. Beyond serving its functional purpose of keeping the crown of the head warm and protected from the elements, identity and expression has been rooted in hair for centuries. A single strand of hair has the power to quite literally reveal one-of-a-kind characteristics of our DNA.
Andrew Ashton appointed creative director by The Edison Agency

Precinct Design co-founder Andrew Ashton has been named the new creative director at independent brand and packaging group The Edison Agency.
The Edison Agency was founded in 2017, and has offices in Melbourne and Sydney. Its clients range from Asahi Lifestyle Beverages, The Arnott’s Group, Nestle CPW, Lion (now Bega), to independent brands across FMCG, sports technology and property sectors.
Ashton has over 25 years in the industry, having founded graphic design studio Nelmes Smith Ashton in 1994 with Rick Nelmes and Graeme Smith. The studio was renamed Precinct Design in 1998, and was acquired by The Photon Group (now Enero) in 2001.

Theatre bosses at Eden Court in Inverness have sent out a Panto ‘love letter’ to thank supporters during the Covid pandemic.
A special two-minute production has been performed by panto stars who would normally be performing to thousands during the festive period.
Eden Court chief executive, James Mackenzie-Blackman, in a message to theatre supporters, said: “This Christmas, Eden Court should be filled with 35,000 audience members watching our pantomime.
