Rooney on Cut Blocks
“Probably the most significant one was the one that didn’t pass, which was the chop-block rule that we had some concerns about,” said Steelers President Art Rooney II. “Our biggest concern with that was while you understand the reason for the rule because chop blocks can lead to lower body injuries, the concern we had was you’re maybe trading one set of problems for another. This (rule) could have cornerbacks, smaller guys out on the field trying to defend themselves against 300-pound guards and tackles pulling around the end and trying to take on those blocks. If you’re able to cut (the big guys) that gives (the little guys) a bit of a fighting chance against the bigger guy. It’s really a question of big people against little people, and how do the little people defend themselves in situ

Pittsburgh Steelers 2021 salary cap situation is something which is not going away easily anytime soon. In fact, it seems like I am writing at least one article every day in regards to something going on with the situation. When Steelers Team President Art Rooney II took questions from reporters on Thursday, issues regarding the salary cap came up on more than one occasion.
Exactly how much the Pittsburgh Steelers are over the 2021 salary cap is still up in the air. First of all, the number has not been set by the NFL and is merely estimated at this time. But with the Steelers pushing just about every dollar into 2021 that they could, the fact the salary cap is expected to go down due to lost revenue has created a “double whammy” this offseason.

While death is a part of life, it never gets easier. Whether it be the loss of a family member, or, in this case, a loss of a Pittsburgh Steelers legend. The end of a life is a struggle for many, and former players, and fans, of the Steelers are mourning the loss of Hall of Famer Kevin Greene.
Greene, who is considered one of the greatest free agent acquisitions in Steelers history, was a part of the legendary Blitzburgh defense which made it to the AFC Championship game in back-to-back seasons, 1994 and 1995, and beat the Indianapolis Colts in 1995 to go on and play in Super Bowl XXX.
