A MOUNTAIN of bottles, cans and litter discarded by gangs of drunken youths resulted in the worst mess a community activist has seen in seven years of local clean-ups. Gourockian Stephen Henry says the mess left strewn around the moors over the weekend was the worst he has seen while carrying out litter picks around Inverclyde. Stephen and a small group of volunteers spent four hours collecting hundreds of items that were left scattered across the grassland between Earnhill Road and Kirn Drive by boozed-up youngsters. Together the team filled 30 bin bags with rubbish, which included a bike, fire hydrant, jacket and a back-pack.
