Right now, the state is following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, allowing those vaccinated to take off face masks. Health officials say relaxing the mask mandate is yet another plea to get more people vaccinated. It’s the promise of feeling more comfortable around family and friends that doctors hope will encourage people to get protected against the virus.In Ohio, 42 percent of people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Some doctors say relaxing the need for masks came much sooner than expected, but it does show the CDC s confidence in the vaccine.
