Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector apprehended nearly 175 migrants in multiple human smuggling stash house operations over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Agents took the migrants into custody and processed them under CBP guidelines.
On June 1, Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) agent received information about a mobile home being utilized as a human smuggling stash house near La Grulla, Texas, according to information obtained from Border Patrol officials. Agents arrived and found 24 migrants inside the mobile home. Agents identified the migrants as foreign nationals from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico.

A veteran border patrol agent has been charged with human trafficking following the discovery of 180 migrants in Laredo, Texas.
The unnamed border patrol agent was arrested after being indicted by a grand jury for “felony offences related to transporting undocumented individuals for private gain,” the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement this week.

The agent is currently on “indefinite suspension” with an investigation pending from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Texas.
(The Center Square) â More than 42,000 people crossing the U.S.-Mexico border evaded authorities in April, preliminary Customs and Border Protection (CPB) statistics show.
More than 177,000 people illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border were apprehended by Border Patrol in the month, on top of the 42,620 who evaded apprehension, according to preliminary CBP numbers, Jaeson Jones, former captain of the Texas Department of Public Safety, said.
During February and March, those evading capture were estimated to be about 30,000 people per month â meaning they were not processed by border patrol and entered the general U.S. population. The number of people who evade capture is now closer to nearly 1,400 people a day, conservative estimates by border patrol indicate.

Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 180 migrants in three human smuggling stash houses. The arrests came in raids on three residences in the Laredo, Texas, area within hours of each other on May 4.
Laredo South Border Patrol Station agents and the Laredo Special Operations Detachment (SOD) teamed up with ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents and Webb County Constables Office (WCCO) Precinct 2 deputies to investigate a possible human smuggling stash house located in central Laredo, according to information obtained from Laredo Sector Border Patrol officials.
