Courtney Britt was scrolling through Facebook when she saw an ad for the SAW Tutoring Network. The mom of a Wilson Memorial student was intrigued because she knew her son could use the extra help.
Her son is in Augusta County s hybrid instructional model, meaning he attends school in person two days a week and then has virtual instruction the other three days. They re not having a lot of face-to-face instruction, Britt said. He was really struggling in geometry.
They gave the virtual tutoring program a chance and, so far, both mom and son love what they ve seen. Britt s son is getting help in geometry one hour a day, twice a week outside of what he gets from his teacher at Wilson. As of late February he had pulled his grade up to an A.
