STODDARD COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - Law enforcement in Stoddard County made a sizeable drug bust Thursday, March 4.
Approximately 74 pounds of marijuana and $7,900 in cash was seized from a vehicle on Highway 60 near Grayridge, Missouri.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office, Jack E. Schmerber Jr., 31 of Dexter, was driving the vehicle back from California and was headed to a home in Dexter.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A bald eagle found in southeast Missouri was sent to a wildlife rehab facility on Wednesday, March 3.
According to Kelly Manley, a vet tech at Skyview Animal Clinic, the female eagle was brought to them after conservation agents found it in a field in the Mingo National Wildlife Refuge.
The refuge is located in parts of southeast Wayne County and northwest Stoddard County.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Health departments across Missouri received the state’s first batch of 50,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
It’s just the start of the state’s rollout of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The Heartland News team called every county’s health department in the southeast region of Missouri. After hearing back from every county’s health department except for St. Francois and Carter, so far the health departments in Pemiscot and Dunklin counties are the only two to receive a shipment of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
