Agency says it wouldn’t block cathedral views
A media company wants to build a digital advertising board overlooking Pelham Bridge.
Alight Media has applied to the City of Lincoln Council to put the 8m high boards in the Pelham Centre Car Park.
Each unit would be 6m wide by 3m high and the applicants said the images would change every 10 seconds.
They said the proposed advertisement would “never” be in front of the cathedral as drivers crossed the bridge, instead being sat to the right of any view of the historic building.

Five more vaccination centres are coming to Lincolnshire in addition to an initial list of 16 published this week, local council leaders claim.
East Lindsey District Council leader Craig Leyland moved to reassure residents, saying “this is not the full list of sites in ELDC”.
“We are assured by the NHS that a further five vaccination sites will go live week commencing January 11 across Lincolnshire, including sites that will serve our coastal communities.”

The car which damaged the office of Sleaford and North Hykeham MP Caroline Johnson is likely to have a smashed front headlight after a U-turn manoeuvre, police have now revealed but they haven’t found the driver yet.
A silver Vauxhall estate car crashed into the property in White Hart Mews, Southgate, Sleaford at 4.30pm on Thursday, December 17. The front window was then boarded up with wood, while large cracks could be seen in the brickwork.
Police now believe the car performed a U-turn with the front end of the vehicle crashing into the building. The vehicle caused extensive damage to the property before leaving the scene.
A46 Nettleham to Welton to close overnight for two weeks

A section of the A46 between Nettleham and Welton will be closed overnight for two weeks, starting in early February.
This night-time closure will enable reconstruction works to take place between Deepdale Lane in Nettleham and Lincoln Road near Welton.
This work will take up to two weeks, with closures starting on Monday, February 1, running overnight from 7pm to 6am during weekdays.
The diversion route during this time will be via A46 Nettleham Roundabout / A15 Riseholme Roundabout / A15-A1500 Showground Roundabout / A15-A631 Roundabout (Caenby Corner) / and either the A631 or A1103 back to the A46, and vice versa.
