They are based on government data, available here, that tracked the overall performance of students at the end of Key Stage 4 in 2019. The department of education data ranked the schools based on the Progress 8 score. The government s website says the Progress 8 score shows how much progress pupils at this school made between the end of key stage 2 and the end of key stage 4, compared to pupils across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 2.

A delighted Sabrina Jacob, of the St Thomas More Catholic Comprehensive School in south east London, was presented with a framed print of her design after the winner was announced.
