A jury has cleared a 40-year-old Avon and Somerset Police sergeant of misconduct by having sex with a drunken woman in a Constabulary car while he was on duty in Weston-super-Mare almost three and a half years ago.

A police officer has told a court it felt like an outer body experience when a woman straddled him for sex in his squad car as he drove her home.
Sgt Lee Cocking said he was only being publicly spirited by giving the woman a lift on Christmas Eve 2017.
He told a jury at Gloucester Crown Court she pulled down her underwear and forced herself on him as he drove her to Weston-super-Mare.

Sergeant Lee Cocking is on trial for misconduct in public office at Gloucester Crown Court, following the alleged events of a night in December 2017.
Jurors have heard that a woman, aged 30 at the time, had been on a night out at the Skinny Dippers bar in Weston-Super-Mare and got so drunk that she was told to leave.
She was spoken to by a female police officer before Sgt Cocking - an acting inspector that night - turned up at 3.10am in an unmarked silver Vauxhall Astra police car, the court heard.

Avon and Somerset police officer, Sgt Lee Cocking, offered the woman a lift home after she was asked to leave a nightclub due to drunken behaviour on Christmas Eve 2017.
Gloucester Crown Court heard the woman told Sgt Cocking, of Labourham Way, in Cheddar, to man up and have sex.
He denies a charge of misconduct in public office.
