Friday night at around 5:30 p.m. Mason County deputies responded to a report of a missing person in the river near the High Steel Bridge. Authorities said someone reported that four people were in a canyon, but another person had been swept down the river by the fast-moving current. The group reportedly rappelled down the canyon and begin constructing a rope swing, when one of the members of the group attempted to cross the river but was swept away and did not resurface.
