New entrant competition winner gets to work

Rob McAneneny A YOUNG farmer who won a five-year farm tenancy in a competition has now taken residence at the farm – and built up something of a media profile. Rob McAneney, who is originally from Darlington, was selected to be the tenant at Scow Hall, a farm owned by Yorkshire Water, after winning a competition which formed part of the firm’s Next Generation Farming plans. Last year, Yorkshire water asked new entrants to make a case as to why they would be the right tenant for the farm. The Harper Adams University graduate applied, and after a rigorous selection process, was picked from almost 50 entrants after impressing judges with his vision for the land and his understanding of the company s Next Generation plans.
