After his serious crash at the World Cup final in Planica in late March, Daniel Andre Tande continues to receive treatment in a hospital near Oslo.
There, the 27-year-old had to undergo surgery on Thursday. Daniel had surgery due to his collarbone fracture. The surgery was successful and he is doing well under the circumstances , said team doctor Guri Ranum Ekaas. Daniel now needs time to rest in order to recover from the injuries he sustained in his crash , Ekaas continued.
Daniel Andre Tande had a serious crash on the Ski Flying hill in Planica and was in an artificial coma for a few days in a hospital in Ljubljana. About a week ago he was taken from Slovenia to the Akershus University Hospital.

The FIS Council unanimously appointed Bad Mitterndorf (AUT) as the host of the FIS Ski Flying World Championship 2024 last week. The Kulm Ski Jumping hill in Bad Mitterndorf (AUT) is considered one of the four largest Ski Flying hills in the world, where regularly FIS Ski Flying World Cups are taking place.
Bad Mitterndorf (AUT) submitted its application after Harrachov (CZE) could not host the 2024 edition due to technical problems with the facility. Without a valid FIS certificate, competitions unfortunately can’t be held there.
That s why the bid of Austria to carry out the FIS Ski Flying World Championship 2024 was successful again. The last FIS Ski Flying World Championship in Bad Mitterndorf was held in 2016. The Slovenian Peter Prevc and the team of Norway took the titles back then.

The Ski Flying World Championships 2024 will be held in Bad Mitterndorf. This was decided by the FIS Council today.
So Austria will host Ski Flying World Championships again in 2024. Originally, the Ski Flying Worlds 2024 should have taken place in Harrachov (CZE), but the facility in the Czech Republic does not have a valid FIS certificate and so competitions can t be held on this Ski Flying hill.
That s why the bid of Bad Mitterndorf to carry out the World Championships was successful. The last Ski Flying Worlds in Bad Mitterndorf were held in 2016, back then Slovenia s Peter Prevc and the team of Norway took the titles.

Additional Ski Flying competition in Planica
There will be an additional competition at the Ski Jumping World Cup final in Planica (SLO). Together with our friends from Planica, we will finish an equally successful and challenging winter season 2020/2021 with 4 Ski Flying competitions from 25.3 - 28.3 in Planica.
To the three originally planned competitions (two individual and one team), an individual competition (replaces the individual competition from Vikersund, March 21) will be added on March 25. We thank the OC Planica for this additional competition.
Since the beginning of the season in Wisla (POL), we have successfully completed 26 out of 26 World Cup competitions in difficult conditions.
