A SHORT film produced by a Keighley team could be screened at a top festival later this year. Sully Lad, which is currently being edited, is set for submission to Raindance – the biggest indie film festival in the UK – this autumn. The film is based on the true story of a young man caught-up in crime in Keighley battling to resume a respectable life. Producer is Mickey Thompson and director Bob Jordan and Sully is played by Simon Pickles, of Ingrow. Skipton Court featured in the filming. Also involved in the project was award-winning East Morton-based hip hop entrepreneur Sabir Hussain – aka Saby Khan – who played an undercover police officer.

Three more people have been charged in connection to a triple shooting in North York that left one man dead.
The shooting took place around 5:15 a.m. on Oct. 3 at 18 Skipton Court, near Whitburn Crescent and Keele Street.
Officers arrived to find a three men suffering from serious gunshot wounds in the building. Life-saving measures were performed on one of the men but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
