Chuck, of the Staten Island Zoo, rolls into Tuesday’s virtual Groundhog Day ceremony on a heater. The West Brighton-based prognosticator has been making the right picks for the past few years, correctly predicting 10 of the last 11 years.
On Feb. 2, 2020, a month or so before the coronavirus (COVID-19) rattled North America, Richmond County’s beloved groundhog accurately predicted an early spring in front of a large crowd at the Zoo.
