HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – The Hillsdale County Sheriffâs Office has a new four legged officer thanks to a $14,300 K-9 grant recently awarded through the Hillsdale County Community Foundation and the Kellogg Youth Advisory Fund.
Sheriff Scott Hodshire says the county needed a K-9 unit due to the county being next to Ohio and Indiana.
In the past, the Sheriffâs Office had to reach out to the Michigan State Police in Lansing to have a dog brought down. It was roughly a 90 minute wait for the State Trooper and the dog to arrive.
