MHS to Open New Production Facility in Kentucky
Mt. Washington, Kentucky, Jan. 29, 2021 MHS Holdings, Inc. (“MHS” or the “Company”), a leading global provider of advanced material handling automation solutions, engineering, equipment and software, is moving forward with plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky after the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) this week granted preliminary approval of a 10-year agreement that can provide up to $2.5 million in tax incentives.
In turn, MHS plans to invest $7.6 million in the facility, which will create 200 new full-time jobs. The project is expected to have a total economic impact topping $327 million over a 10-year period.

Material Handling Systems Creating 200 Jobs In Kentucky
Material Handling Systems Inc. (MHS), a Mt. Washington, KY-based manufacturer of conveyor and automated sortation equipment, will create 200 full-time jobs with a $7.6 million investment in a new facility in Bowling Green, KY.

As the project moves along, members of the Housing Development Alliance (HDA) are preparing to begin the second phase of the major redevelopment project in the Allais community. Recently, the City of Hazard completed its portion of the project alongside H.A. Spalding Engineers, and the land is ready to be transferred to the HDA for the construction of 15 new houses on the property.
âThe city was able to get a large CDBG grant, which is what paid for the property at Allais and the demolition of the old strip mall there,â said HDA Executive Director Scott McReynolds. âTheyâve recently finished developing the land by putting in and paving a road and installing water and sewer lines.â

(“MHS” or the “Company”), a leading global provider of advanced material handling automation solutions, engineering, equipment and software, announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase certain assets related to TGW Systems, Inc.’s U.S. conveyor business unit, which operated separately from TGW’s U.S. integration business unit. The transaction is expected to close in February 2021.
