David Gordon Green is directing the upcoming
Exorcist franchise with Blumhouse producing. Green, who will serve as the screenwriter of the trilogy, is helming the upcoming
Halloween film for the studio.

Universal Pictures will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the horror classic The Exorcist by launching a brand new film trilogy with Ellen Burstyn returning.
The studio is reportedly shelling out a whopping $400 million for this new trilogy, with Burstyn reprising her role from the original as Chris MacNeil, the mother of possessed 12-year-old Regan (Linda Blair), along with Leslie Odom Jr.
The first of these new Exorcist movies will debut in theaters October 13, 2023, with the next two movies arriving directly on the Peacock streaming service, according to a report from The New York Times.
