Norton piles up points, but Trinity boys fall

Hudson Norton scored 24 points to lead the Trinity Lutheran boys, Saturday, but the Cougars were out-scored, 84-66, by Jac-Cen-Del.
Tyler Goecker added 10 points for Trinity, going over 1,000 points in his career and Sage Broughton matched that total for the Cougars.
Host Jac-Cen-Del scored heavily in the late going, amassing 27 points in the fourth quarter.
The Cougar boys now have a break over Christmas and New Year’s.
Winning streak snapped
Trailing all the way, the Crothersville girls basketball team saw its three-game winning streak ended, 45-28, by the Southwestern Lady Rebels, Saturday.
Crothersville FFA Toy and Food Drive sets record in 32nd year
CROTHERSVILLE
The 32nd annual Crothersville FFA Toy and Food Drive is one for the record books.
The biggest difference this year was having to make up for the loss of nearly $4,000 since the 26th annual craft show was canceled in November due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Crothersville girls survive West Washington challenge
CROTHERSVILLE
Zoe Spangler scored the only points of the overtime period to lift the Crothersville girls to a 42-39 win over sectional foe West Washington Thursday night.
The Tigers had a chance to win the game in regulation when Grace Wilson’s shot from the wing bounced off the rim as the buzzer sounded leaving the score deadlocked at 39.
Tigers coach Kevin Hensley called time with 12 seconds remaining to set up the final play.
Both teams had chances to take the lead in the overtime before Spangler made a move to the basket, scored, was fouled and made the free throw with 2:25 remaining.
Crothersville girls topple Cannelton

Grace Wilson and her Crothersville teammates got off to a hot start against Cannelton Monday night and coasted to a 55-23 win in a girls’ non-conference basketball game.
Wilson, the only senior on the floor for the Tigers, hit three deuces and a 3-pointer to help her team take a 17-4 lead at the end of the quarter.
Zoe Spangler, who finished with 18 points and 17 rebounds, had two baskets in the opening period and topped the Tigers in rebounds in the quarter with 7.
Wilson said she likes the way the Tigers have improved, and she has gained confidence in her shooting.
