Roaring success of Wexford Lions Club art show can be enjoyed online

With Wexford Arts Centre galleries closed due to government restrictions, the annual Lions Club exhibition took place entirely online this year. The event celebrates local talent and offers a platforms for artists at various stages of their career to show their work in a public setting. The show migrated online with great success and opened via Zoom with over 100 people in attendance. Viewers were able to view artworks from 123 submitting artists in our online gallery from the comfort and safety of their own homes. It was met with positivity by both artists and exhibition-goers alike said the centre s Visual Arts Manager Lisa Byrne.

Clifton Hampden school gives boxes of socks to homeless

Boxes of socks, hats and gloves collected by pupils at Clifton Hampden for the homeless of Oxford. Picture supplied by school SCHOOLCHILDREN in South Oxfordshire have been running a charity appeal with a difference – collecting socks. The pupils at Clifton Hampden CofE Primary School near Abingdon decided they wanted to help the homeless this winter, so they contacted the Gatehouse homeless centre in Oxford. Operations manager Zoe Wright told the children that the centre was particularly short of socks, gloves and hats to give to its visitors, so the children set to work.
