Did You See the Fun That MaineDOT Had With Highway Signs?

Honestly, I personally love me some highway sign fun. Driving by overhead highway signs or breakdown lane highway signs that just blandly say Click It or Ticket or You Drink, You Drive, You Lose are good messages, sure, but it quickly becomes just background noise that you don t even pay attention to, right? Plus, who ever said that safety couldn t be fun? It reminds me of my sophomore year in high school (what up Salem High, go Blue Devils!) - some people could consider chemistry boring because you have to memorize the periodic table and do some math equations and follow all these safety precautions so you don t accidentally hydrochloric acid your hand right off.

Wagner: Grace Coolidge s letter sets the record straight | Opinion

Last week I shared some thoughts about attending the 1957 second inauguration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Vice President Richard Nixon. As I said then, I won the trip, along with three other South Dakota high school students, in an essay contest sponsored by the Sioux Falls Argus Leader. The topic was “What was the most interesting inauguration in American history?” I wrote about the middle-of-the-night swearing in of Calvin Coolidge. My effort eventually resulted in a personal letter from Grace Coolidge, his wife, that corrected some of my observations in preparing the piece. We’ll get to the letter, which was professionally framed and hangs on the wall of my study, in a moment.
