We hold ourselves to the highest standards, so while it s nice to see (these rankings) it s not something that we re going to put much stock in, he said. Longview High School remains committed to providing the best possible education for all the young people in our care. Whether it s to prepare them for the job force or academia, there are always ways we can improve. Our community deserves nothing less.
East Texas Teenager Passes Away in Auto Accident

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 11 p.m., a 2015 Kia passenger car was traveling west. For unknown reasons, the driver drove off the roadway to the left and struck a tree. The vehicle then caught on fire.
The driver is identified as Breanna Kilgore, 19, from Pineland. She was a 2020 graduate of West Sabine High School according to Kilgore s obituary notice. Kilgore was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Sabine County Justice of the Peace.
Funeral services for Kilgore will be held Tuesday, April 13 beginning at 11 at the West Sabine High School gymnasium in Pineland.

LIBERTY CITY, Texas (KLTV) - On January 16, the home of the Kirkindoll family in Liberty City caught fire and was destroyed.
“I was sad when my house burned down,” said 4th grader Ava Kirkindoll.
But they soon learned the true meaning of support. Within hours, their community sprang into action.
“We have been overwhelmed with what people have been willing to do. People we don’t know, people from this community,” said elementary school teacher Michelle Kirkindoll.
