Police say a Nebraska native was taken into custody after stealing a boat that was moored on cowing Street, leading police to the canal locks where he became trapped.
Eric Warbelton, 35, is accused of traveling west on the canal in the stolen boat with police tracking it.
He was eventually taken into custody when the boat traveled into the locks int he village of Waterloo and became trapped there.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s office says a 25-year-old faces a number of charges following a Facebook Marketplace scheme, and that there could be additional victims.
Deputies say on April 29 around 3:15 p.m. they arrested Carol A. Ziglar, 25, of Cortland on an arrest warrant related a scheme to defraud.
Altogether she faces a charge of scheme to defraud and seven counts of petit larceny.
It’s alleged that Ziglar placed advertisements on Facebook Marketplace in an attempt to sell property.
