OSBI continues search for suspect after good Samaritans shot in Sequoyah County Megan Butler, KTUL Staff © Provided by KTUL Tulsa The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is still searching for the suspect who allegedly shot two people Saturday night. The Sequoyah County Sheriff s Office was called to a double shooting on Interstate 40  around 8:30 p.m. Investigators say the two victims, 39-year-old John Derek Riggs and 32-year-old Jake Myers, were seen on surveillance video at the Love s Travel Stop in Vian.  Video shows Riggs and Myers buying a can of gas for the suspect, Lee King.  Agents believe the victims were being good Samaritans who were trying to help King and didn t know him prior to the incident.

The investigation began Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. after the sheriff s office was notified about two men were laying in the roadway near mile marker 293 on I-40 and both had been shot. Police believe the two men picked up the shooter by his vehicle on the side of the road and took him to a Love s convenience store.
