For small business owners across San Francisco, there’s nothing more frustrating than a broken store window.
But they’re an all too common sight in the city, so much so that San Francisco s Castro District Merchants Association launched a survey last week to find out what the true toll has been on the neighborhood in the past year. As of publication, area shops have reported 72 incidents of vandalized and broken windows since January 2020, at a total cost of $135,472.74, and the responses are still coming in.
