A University Terrace home went up in flames Wednesday morning
The Shreveport Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Suzanne Drive at 1:53 a.m. to a reported home on fire.
Fire Engine 20 was the first unit on scene at 1:56 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-story wood-frame home with heavy smoke coming from the front door.
Firefighters were able to enter the home and extinguish the fire. The residences of the home were alerted by smoke detectors and were able to escape unharmed.
With the efforts of 24 firefighters and eight fire units, the fire was placed under control in 20 minutes.
