Wesley So destroys the King s Indian
Daniel King: The main theme of the show is how Wesley So takes on the King s Indian. I noticed that he likes to employ a similar strategy to his crushing blitz game against Kasparov (see last week): he sacrifices his c-pawn to get quick pressure on the queenside, distracting Black from his usual kingside play. His record with this system is tremendous, although there are ups and downs with such a sharp way of playing.
One of the games I ll be considering is a one-minute game (really!!) that has some very instructive moments. Should Duda have sacrificed on d5 or e4 in the position below?
