The funeral for slain plant operator, Ryan Johnitty, is set for Tuesday at his parents’ home at Bamboo Village in Cedros.
The 33-year-old victim, who last lived alone at Dow Village in South Oropouche, was the only child of his parents.
His bereaved father Vincent spoke briefly with Newsday on Sunday when he said the body would be taken to the family’s home at Mc Donald Trace.
Johnitty, worked at Trinidad Generation Unlimited, at Vessigny Village, La Brea. He was not married and had no children.
On Tuesday at about 7 pm, his parents found his body in his house, with a plastic bag over his head and a belt and black cord around his neck.

SORT officer found dead should have been in quarantine

Sgt Lyndon Jacob of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT), who was found dead near his Mayo garden on Wednesday morning, was supposed to be in quarantine.
SORT head Supt Roger Alexander revealed this during TV6’s Beyond the Tape programme on Wednesday evening.
Jacob was found in the road at Hillview Heights, Sankarlal Drive, Whiteland.
A nearby resident told Newsday Jacob’s wife had been outside screaming and crying for help.
The resident said she sent her son to see what was happening.
SORT officer found dead near Mayo garden - Lincoln Holder
A SORT (Special Operations Response Team) officer was found dead near his Mayo garden on Wednesday afternoon.
Police from the Gasparillo Police Station said Sgt Lyndon Jacob was found in the road at Hillview Heights, Sankarlal Drive, Whiteland.
Jacob was from Tabaquite.
When Newsday visited the area, one resident who preferred not to be named said Jacob’s wife had been outside screaming and crying for assistance.
The resident said she sent her son to see what was happening.
“He just throw on a jersey and run down by the garden. I knew he would reach faster than me, so I asked him to go.

Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith announced the appointment of Supt Roger Alexander as the new head of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) on Wednesday.
Supt Alexander is a popular police presence on television. At SORT he replaces Insp Mark Hernandez, who is facing charges of misbehaviour in public office following allegations of encouraging the beating of a suspect in custody for questioning about the kidnapping and murder of Andrea Bharatt.
