Klynstra said he d also like to make headway on the city council s efforts, several years in the making, to expand the city s limited snowmelt system to more of downtown Zeeland, and another city council dream to construct a pedestrian crossing either above or below the I-196 business loop that cuts through the city of Zeeland. I d like to see something happen with that, Klynstra said.
The mayor said the last year in office has been primarily focused on responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, progress on some of the council s projects has been slowed, but Klynstra said he is proud of some of the initiatives the council approved to help residents and businesses during the pandemic.
