Women s Weekend Watch: Five Games Not to Miss

Though there may be some upsets in conference tournaments that shake up AQs and snubs on Selection Sunday, we usually have a good idea of who the top dogs and contenders are in conferences. This year, there are still so many question marks. We know UNC is, as expected, playing like the top team in the country, having survived a scare from Notre Dame. Northwestern has also been dominant but has only played conference opponents in a Big Ten that’s been wild, to say the least. Meanwhile, the CAA is a five-team race with Drexel, a program that hasn’t finished above .500 in conference play in nearly a decade, on the rise. Down south, there’s a Jacksonville team defying expectations and emerging as a dark horse contender.

Less than a minute into the first half, attacker Grace Haus ripped one past freshman goalkeeper Julia Weiss putting Florida up 1-0 early.

Special report on the Florida Gators lacrosse team: KENNESAW, Ga. – The sixth-ranked Florida lacrosse team returns to the field on Wednesday to take on the Kennesaw State Owls. Opening draw is set for 11 a.m. at Sports Park Field 3. Florida’s last contest was an 11-5 loss against the top-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels, while the Owls are coming off a 15-7 loss to Coastal Carolina on Feb. 27. The Gators and the Owls will be meeting for the second time in program history, with Florida holding the 1-0 series advantage after a 21-6 win on Feb. 26, 2020. The Chanticleers notched 12 second-half goals and held Kennesaw State to just three goals over the final 30 minutes of play to run away with the home win.
