SOMERVILLE, MA The Somerville Public Schools has named its next high school principal. Matthew Buchanan, principal of Hope High School in Providence, RI, will succeed Sebastian Sibby LaGambina, who is retiring at the end of the school year after a 35-year career with the district, including four years as Somerville High School principal.
Buchanan was chosen from a pool of four finalists. He has more than 20 years of experience in teaching, counseling and program development in a variety of settings in the Providence area, according to a press release from the Somerville Public Schools.
