Brittle Bone Disease Campaigner Alec Cabacungan Says I ll Never Be Down

Alec Cabacungan, an 18-year-old student and sports fan known for appearing in commercials for the Shriners Children s Hospital network, has spoken out about his journey and living with brittle bone disease.
Brittle bone disease is also known as osteogenesis imperfecta, or OI. Cabacungan was admitted to one of the Shriners hospitals with the disease as a child. At age 12, he appeared in a commercial for the hospital network that touched many and helped raise funds through public donations.
Fox News anchor Chris Wallace described Cabacungan as the face of Shriners. Speaking to the broadcaster on March 14, Cabacungan said: All of a sudden, people were coming up to me, I m like 12 at the time, I was panicking, I was like who are all these people, how do they know me?

Our Dad, Milo Wayne Aasved, 85, died suddenly on Dec. 24, 2020, in Helena, Montana. He blessed his family until the end of his life with his smile, hugs, and funny stories.
Milo was born to Wayne and Delia Aasved on Feb. 9, 1935, at home in Plentywood, Montana. In 1936 he and his family moved to Butte, where he had fond memories of his youth, a close extended Norwegian family, and attending Gold Hill Lutheran Church. In 1954 he was introduced to Hazel Mae Parsons and they remained high school sweethearts. Dad graduated from Butte High School in 1954 and then worked for the Anaconda Company in the mines. Milo and Hazel were married on Aug. 11, 1956, at Gold Hill Lutheran Church. They were an example of true love, companionship, and he treasured his wedding vows to the end. While living in Butte they were blessed with the birth of Christy in 1958 and Craig in 1961.

People will not be able to battle their brains to help Education Foundation of Muskogee this year.
The Foundation s annual Trivia Night, held each January, joins other events canceled out of concern for the COVID-19 pandemic. It s very disheartening having to cancel the popular event this year, but the live event is not possible at all, said Foundation President Karra Wardour. We have researched online trivia challenges that other education foundations have sponsored this year and they just do not have the same effect as the real thing.
