LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) organised a condolence reference in memory of late Olympian Naveed Alam who passed away earlier this week after a long battle with cancer. Former Olympians Chaudhry Akhtar Rasool, Manzoor Junior, Khawaja Juniad, Asif Bajwa, Danish Kaleem, former international goalkeeper Qadeer Bashir, national junior team coach Rana Zaheer and the entire probables of the national junior squad attended the reference. Akhtar Rasool hailed the services of Naveed as a fine full-back of the national team which won the gold medal in the 1994 World Cup. Akhtar urged the PHP to also hold similar references for other Olympians and officials, especially for former president Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Zafarullah Khan Jamali. ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Wednesday said a new law will be brought against the land mafia.
“There is a lot of work pressure on the Law Ministry and it is not known for a long time where the file that goes there, is lost, but I still pay tribute to assistance in providing inheritance certificates,” the prime minister said while addressing a ceremony in connection with issuance of inheritance certificates in Punjab.
Imran Khan said that everything in government institutions is done with great difficulty. He said it is necessary to create ease for the people with the help of technology. He pointed out that Shaukat Khanum Hospital makes full use of technology due to which corruption has ceased to exist, and efforts are being made to bring e-governance in the government.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur came under scathing criticism from the opposition in the Senate on Wednesday for calling ex-PM Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (ZAB) a traitor, charging that the language being used by some ministers was opening up a new political tug-of-war.
For some time, it became inaudible as former chairman Raza Rabbani resorted to loud slogan-chanting against the government and its ministers. Some opposition lawmakers came near the dice of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani. There was complete unity in the ranks of lawmakers belonging to PPP, PML-N, JUI-F and other parties as they joined hands to condemn the minister for Kashmir and asked what message he was giving to Kashmiris by such utterances.
